Chicago, Illinois501(c)(3) nonprofit
Free2B is building a better way to discover art, events, and community experiences because income should never determine who gets to participate.

Our mission
Chicago’s creative life is rich, electric, and everywhere. But too many people are left out. They do not lack curiosity. Information is fragmented, and cost can be a barrier.
Free2B has developed a mobile platform that brings free and accessible activities, events, and opportunities together in one inviting place, helping people discover new experiences and connect with their communities.
Our mission is to reconnect people with the world around them through art, culture, recreation, and community experiences. We believe meaningful connections, new discoveries, and opportunities for personal growth should be accessible to everyone.
The app
One thoughtful place to move from “What’s out there?” to “I’m going.”

Explore activities and events gathered from across the city in one clear, welcoming experience.
Search by interest and browse timely ideas for your next outing, including experiences beyond what an algorithm already knows.
Use calendar, map, saved events, and location details to turn discovery into participation.
Available on iOS and Android
Community impact
We envision a Chicago where every person can take part in the arts, culture, and community experiences that shape belonging.
As Free2B grows, we intend to measure what matters: access created, experiences discovered, and connections made. Verified impact figures will be published here when they exist.

Founder & Executive Director · Free2B
For Free2B founder Robbin Major, the arts have always been more than entertainment. They have been a gateway to imagination, discovery, connection, and possibility.
Growing up, access to arts education and free programming throughout elementary and high school expanded her world. Those experiences encouraged her to dream beyond her immediate surroundings and imagine a future filled with possibilities.
Years later, with just $700, a box of belongings, a suitcase, a friend's air mattress, and a dream, she moved to New York City to pursue acting.
During some of her most difficult moments, free movies in the park, neighborhood jazz performances, and community gatherings reminded her that joy, inspiration, and human connection could still be found, even when money was tight.
Those experiences reinforced something she had understood since childhood: art and culture do not belong exclusively to the wealthy. They belong to everyone.
A theater performance, basketball game, local wrestling match, fashion exhibition, or neighborhood festival can offer far more than an afternoon of entertainment. These experiences can lift someone's spirits, introduce them to new people, inspire an unexpected idea, or expose them to ways of living and thinking they have never encountered before.
For children and adults navigating poverty, isolation, or limited opportunities, that exposure can be especially meaningful. Sometimes a single experience is enough to spark curiosity, build confidence, create a connection, or inspire a new dream.
Robbin believes that communities already have spaces where these moments can happen. Parks, libraries, theaters, recreation centers, and neighborhood gathering places offer opportunities to learn, connect, and experience something new.
The challenge is helping people discover them and encouraging them to participate.
That belief became Free2B.
Free2B uses technology as a bridge to real-world experiences, encouraging people to step away from their screens, explore their surroundings, engage their minds, and reconnect with one another.
Because sometimes all it takes is an invitation to discover a world you never knew was waiting for you.
